OMG. Do you know what time of year it is?!?! It’s END OF YEAR VIDEO time!!! (You have to excuse me. I get a little excited when I start thinking about making the end of year video.)
I started a tradition five years ago (I actually think it was six, but I can’t find the sixth one). That tradition is to make a video at the end of every year that sums it up. It’s my way of reliving all the awesomeness. And remembering the good. It’s so easy to get bogged down in thinking — that fucking year was HARD. When really, there are so many magical moments in every year. Why not remember the good stuff? And, sure, learn from the bad stuff — but after that, kick that crap to the curb! When you look back on your life, you want to remember the good times. The love. The friendships. The laughter. The adventures. The DANCING.
The first time I made a video it was a simple slide show set to music. It was about a minute and a half, and there was nothing fancy about it. Now, every year, I pretty much try to top the last. I’m working with the most basic, free software on my PC, so let me tell ya, that’s hard to do! But I get creative, and I LOVE coming up with new ways to top the previous year. I’ve been brainstorming and taking video clips, and I’ve got some ideas for my 2015 video that have me super excited.
So all this planning and scheming for this year’s video got me nostalgic about the previous years. And I just watched them all. And they had me seriously laughing out loud! So…I have to share! In case you’re curious about the silliness that is Heather and this tradition that may just be my absolute favorite tradition of all time, here you go. All my previous end of year videos. Because…why not??
Enjoy, my friends. And, hey, you should think about making a video of your own one day!
